Cā;
Recently compilations have failed because the free space in NCOMPLR
has run out, especially with large macro files being loaded. There is
a version of NCOMPLR called BCOMPLR with the compiler code in the
hiseg. Since no one knows about this, I plan to make NCOMPLR really
be BCOMPLR. The lone disadvantage is that BCOMPLR does not share
the MacLisp hiseg, which potentially uses up an extra job slot.
Since almost no one uses a blank MacLisp hiseg anymore (people make
up systems with the compiled code in the hiseg anyway), this is
not a real problem.
A compiler using PLISP, the paging version of MacLisp at SAIL.
has finally been produced. The proposal is to make BCOMPLR be
this version; BCOMPLR standing for BigComplr.
Thus the renaming is: XCOMPLR => BCOMPLR => NCOMPLR => NUL:NCOMPLR.DMP.
I plan to do this within the next week unless there are serious
objections.
